Joy, a Solicitor Academic at Nottingham Law School, Nottingham Trent University, practised commercial litigation with Eversheds prior to joining NLS in 2002. Joy is a CIArb accredited mediator and has participated in international conferences on dispute resolution.
Joy holds an LLM in Advanced Litigation and an MA in Education, and specialises in Dispute Resolution. She is Course Leader for the Intellectual Property Practitioner Portfolio and Director of The Centre for Mediation and Dispute Resolution and runs the NLS Internal Mediation Skills Competition.
She is Verifier for one of NTU’s international collaborative provision partners and is an RICS assessor for mediation training. Joy is a member of the working group for the ICC International Commercial Mediation Competition Rules and a member of the working group for the annual ICC Mediation Round Table Conference. She is a Fellow of the Higher Education Academy, a Freeman of the City of London and an Honorary Freeman of the Worshipful Company of Arbitrators.
